I'm 8 weeks

Murphy having a casual Monday afternoon..."if you need me, I'll be in my room, in my mom's recliner."

M is now 8 weeks old and weighs 10+ pounds and is 22 inches.

Rolling over

So M is getting more consistent at rolling over on his own. It's so fun to watch him. When I put him on the ground he's trying so hard to keep his head up, his hands pressing down and his feet moving ninety miles a minute. I captured his pre-roll over look this weekend that was pretty cute.

Rolling over and sleeping on my side (supervised of course). He's in his night time jammies.

Uncle Mike is in town to visit and do some work on the Millcreek house. M loves having another pair of hands to hold him!

I wish i could dance!

It's one of those things that I would do over as a kid...there are not many of those things on my list, but I wish i could dance, which is why it was so much fun on Tuesday attending the So You Think You Can Dance tour making a stop in Salt Lake City. I realize I'm 33 years old and that the crowd we were with was similar to what you'd see at a Hannah Montana concert, we didn't care and loved every minute... all 3 hours...kudos to Mr. Mom, Matt who watched M for 6 hours. I didn't roll in until 11:15, I'm too old for that hour of the night, especially when I see 2am and 6am.

Go Cougars!

Pac-10, what? I'm still celebrating last week's victory over UCLA all the while looking forward to tomorrow's game against Wyoming. The cowboys always give us a run for our money.

Nancy teaching M the fight song- thanks for my new outfit!

Jetsetter

The fam
Grandma, it's so hard being 6 weeks old. Thanks for taking care of me.
I'm all bundled for our morning walk in Idaho. It was brisk outside and mom forgot my hat.

Grandpa Dunn with his first and #1 grandson.

Murphy was a super star traveler this weekend as we flew to Idaho to meet Grandpa Dunn, Mike and Kerry. Western Michigan was playing the University of Idaho in football and since John was this far west, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to meet up with the family. Admittedly, Matt and I were alittle nervous once we got to the airport unsure of how M would travel. We've also realized, were on the other side of the coin now traveling with a child, I witnessed the look on everyone's faces as we walked down the airplane aisle and the relief as we passed by their row. You know we've all had that look...please keeping walking...great a baby...please don't sit next to me...etc.

Murphy pulled through and didn't make a peep, people all around us were amazed (I think we were too). We had a great visit in Moscow, ID and miss being closer to family on a regular basis.

A big thanks to Tom and Anita for hosting us in Moscow and for Aunt Jeanie and Gary for keeping us laughing! It was never a dull moment.

Harris's new best friend

Amy took a break from Arkansas and her family to visit little M this weekend. During her stay she bonded with "big" brother Harris, as she took a special liking to him and vice versa. We took our first walk the night she arrived and she asked if she could take the leash and walk Harris, that followed with the comment that she'd never walked a dog before...what? Well, i guess since we didn't grow up with any dogs and she doesn't have any dogs now, why would i think she has ever walked a dog? She took the leash and off they went...literally. Harris is 85 pounds, with a gait that is long and fast:), I explained that walking Harris is not like walking most dogs. Amy says she always tells her kids, no dogs till they get old enough to care for it, but after this weekend, i wouldn't be suprised if she changes her mind.

Spoiled

Well, the real fun is about to begin. We've had an long run of family members visiting with extra hands for helping but Grandma Dunn and Amy left this weekend, which leaves Matt, Harris and I on our own to figure things out. We have been spoiled by doting grandmas and siblings for a near month, lucky us! We are having such a great time being parents-Murphy is so much fun, he loves walks with the dog, looking around, making faces, sleeping and eating. He is finally starting to fill out a little bit and getting longer in length- his outfits that many of you have given him are finally starting to fit. I've included some of Murphy's favorite poses- which include the "O" with this lips, and the hand to his face.

I'm also happy that football season has started, Rise and Shout for the Cougars this weekend, with a victory over Washington, sorry the Beavers got worked- Matt still has hopes for a strong season, we'll see who's ranked by the end of the season.
